Recent amendments to the Uniform Civil Procedure Rules 1999 (Qld) regarding Subpoenas
21 September 2018The Uniform Civil Procedure (Subpoenas) Amendment Rule 2018 brings the Uniform Civil Procedure Rules 1999 (Qld) into alignment with Part 24 of the Federal Court Rules 2011 (Cth) in relation to subpoenas.
The UCPR is now more responsive to changing technologies, as it accommodates electronic methods in the issuing of subpoenas and production of documents and seeks to minimise arguments about costs of compliance.

Mandatory combustible cladding checklist applies from 1 October 2018
20 August 2018The Building and Other Legislation (Cladding) Amendment Regulation 2018 will commence on 1 October 2018 and will require building owners to complete an online checklist and submit the results to the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) by 20 March 2019. The regulation has been made in response to recent fires that have been linked to combustible cladding materials.
