This security code helps protect our website against ‘bots’ (short for web robots) which are automated computer programs that can cause malicious damage by, for example, inundating a site with email requests, causing the site to crash. The code is generated to differentiate between human and bot i.e. humans can read distorted text whereas a computer program cannot.
