Cecelia Christensen
Crown Solicitor
Cecelia was appointed as Crown Law’s 23rd Crown Solicitor in August 2024 and joined the practice on 9 September 2024.
As Crown Solicitor, Cecelia plays an important role in the justice portfolio by functioning as the solicitor for the State of Queensland, protecting and supporting Government in the public interest. She also provides legal advice to the Attorney-General, especially in relation to the Attorney’s role as the First Law Officer.
Cecelia extensive experience covering a broad range of matters relevant to the public sector, along with corporate governance and delivery expertise in major commercial, corporate, policy and legislative projects.
She began her career as a legal clerk at Crown Law in 1995 and was admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland in 1997.
As a solicitor within Crown Law from 1997 until 2002, Cecelia acted as instructing solicitor for the State in Court of Appeal and High Court proceedings, and also dealt with complex advisory matters.
She has held senior leadership positions in Queensland Treasury, including as acting Head of Corporate and General Counsel responsible for legal services, right to information, privacy and complaints management functions for Treasury.
Prior to joining Crown Law, Cecelia led the strategic and operational direction of the Corruption Division. Crime and Corruption Commission.
She brings with her more than 27 years of experience covering a broad range of matters relevant to the public sector, along with corporate governance and delivery expertise in major commercial, corporate, policy and legislative projects.
