Recently, the Director-General of the Department of Energy and Water Supply (DEWS), Mr Paul Simshauser, presented specialised technical training in computer modelling and forecasting for energy prices as a fundraising event for Windana Support Centre Inc.

Windana is a registered charity and public benevolent institution which has been providing a safe refuge and support to women and children escaping domestic violence for over 37 years. DEWS and Windana are participating in Australia’s CEO Challenge to promote the prevention and incidence of domestic, family and workplace violence.

DNRM In-house Legal and Crown Law provided legal advice about holding the event, with Crown Law preparing a fundraising agreement between DEWS, Powerlink and Windana, including Windana’s authority for the fundraising under the Collections Act 1966. The Director-General recently acknowledged In-house Legal and Crown Law for enabling the training.

Crown Law has expertise in providing legal advice relating to charities, including charitable fundraising, drafting and advising on grant funding agreements and advising on establishing charities.
