Human Rights Act training workshop

The Human Rights Act 2019 has an impact across Queensland Government, at all levels. Learn more about how the Act operates and what the key obligations are under the Act

Our half-day workshop will provide an overview of key provisions of the Human Rights Act, including the human rights protected. Using practical human rights scenarios, the workshop will cover in depth:

  • the test in section 13 for whether a limit on human rights is compatible
  • the obligation in section 48 to interpret legislation, if possible, compatibly with human rights
  • the obligation of public entities in section 58 to act and make decisions in a way that is compatible with human rights.

Government lawyers who attend this training are eligible to claim three CPD points per session.
