Sound decision making training workshop

Crown Law’s popular Sound decision-making training workshop is being offered again in 2024.

Decision-making is a core function of every government agency. The consequences of a flawed decision-making process can be far reaching and severe. It is essential for decision-makers and those involved in decision-making processes to be familiar with sound decision-making practices.

Our half-day workshops offer a practical approach to the information and skills essential to decision-makers at all levels across Queensland Government.

This session provides specialist legal advice to clients on a wide range of litigation and administrative law matters.

The training includes a comprehensive manual and covers the ‘need to know’ aspects of sound decision-making, including:

  • know your legislation - the power to make decisions
  • relevant documentation
  • briefing high-level decision-makers
  • natural justice
  • bias and conflicts of interest
  • relevant and irrelevant considerations
  • discretion
  • policy.

Government lawyers who attend this training are eligible to claim three CPD points per session.
