Crown Law established a First Nations Legal Clerkships Program in 2021 to provide First Nations law students practical and meaningful experience in a legal practice environment including an opportunity to gain valuable skills, knowledge, and a network within the legal industry.

Crown Law welcomed three new law graduates to our practice through our 2024 graduate program.

On 2 May 2024, a Full Bench of the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission (Full Bench) comprising of President Davis, Vice President O’Connor and Industrial Commissioner Pidgeon delivered its judgment in Johnson v State of Queensland (Queensland Health) [2024] QIRC 102 confirming the circumstances in which a person can be represented by a lawyer.

Last Wednesday, the High Court handed down its judgment in Chief Executive Officer, Aboriginal Areas Protection Authority v Director of National Parks [2024] HCA 16 which confirms that the presumption that the Commonwealth is immune from criminal liability does not extend to natural persons, corporations sole and other bodies corporate.

In July 2024, senior lawyers from Crown Law will be visiting four regional centres across the State to deliver free full-day legal briefings to government officers on a range of topics relevant to your roles.
