    The Court of Appeal upholds the decision of the Supreme Court regarding whether s 69 of the Taxation Administration Act 2001 is beyond the legislative competence of the Queensland Parliament in the matter of WB Rural Pty Limited as Trustee for the Whitsunday Trust v Commissioner of State Revenue [2018] QCA 255.

    Human Rights Bill 2018

    The Human Rights Bill 2018 was introduced into Parliament on 31 October 2018. It follows the model of the Victorian Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities as well as the ACT Human Rights Act, in adopting a dialogue model for human rights protection.

    The Industrial Relations Act 2016 (IR Act) commenced on 1 March 2017. Similar to the now repealed Industrial Relations Act 1999, the IR Act limits the circumstances where a party may be represented by a lawyer in proceedings before the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission (the QIRC).
